Experience the Advanced Ankle & Foot Difference
Dr. Burdge is the Board Certified Podiatrist For You
Dr. Scott Burdge has been practicing podiatry for more than twenty years. As a Board Certified Surgeon, he is well versed in every foot surgery imaginable.
After earning his degree at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco in 1995, he completed his first surgical residency at the University of Texas at San Antonio Medical Center which is also one of the world's top programs for treating diabetic foot problems. His second residency was completed at the VA in Salt Lake City where he was able to work in coordination with Dr. Michael Lowe the podiatrist for the Utah Jazz.
In 1998 Dr. Burdge joined forces with Dr. William VanPelt, a 30 year veteran in podiatric sports medicine and surgery in west Houston. Soon after that time, a new branch was opened in Katy by Dr. Burdge. A couple years later, Dr. VanPelt retired and Dr. Burdge took over the practice.
As a father of three, and a member of a family oriented community, he has treated countless pediatric patients. As a surgeon he is probably the most experienced physician in the area for performing the most common outpatient pediatric procedure. If your child is fearful regarding an ingrown toenail procedure, or just about seeing the doctor, please let us know of your concerns prior to your arrival, so we can be as prepared as possible to address you and your child's needs.
Each patient is important to Dr. Burdge. That means he's not going to immediately recommend surgery if that isn't in your best interest. He will always steer you toward more conservative treatment first. He does his best to listen and be thorough. Details can make a big difference. If you have specific concerns of any kind, please let us know.
In his free time Dr. Burdge enjoys his four grandkids, being involved with his church, supporting Boy Scouts, history - especially Roman, old movies and fast cars.

A Clinic to Put Your Feet at Ease
We have the facility and equipment to serve all your foot care needs.
When we built our office we knew our patients wouldn't want to be doing a lot of walking due to foot pain, which is why our conveniently located building allows you to almost always park directly in front of our door and walk in.
In Office digital X-Ray
At our office, there's no need for patients to be sent out to a separate facility for x-rays. We've got the equipment in our office for digital imaging. After the x-rays are done, Dr. Burdge can review them one on one with you on his tablet.
Soft tissue imaging via ultrasound is also available at our office. It's great for pinpointing a specific area of inflammation for steroid injections.
Hyperion Medical Laser
For an additional option when it comes to the treatment of fungal nails and warts we have the highly effective Hyperion Medical Laser.
Unlike many independent medical offices, we have gone completely paperless. This means all of your medical records are digital and can be easily transferred/shared with major hospitals and other doctor's offices. When you're in a health crisis shared medical information can become vital. Dr. Burdge has caught rare forms of cancer and has had to work in collaboration with multiple doctors on surgical cases and hospitalizations. Although those intense cases are rare, having the information accessible when it's vital can make a big difference.
The Smart Scan can detect the potential for and degree of neuropathy in diabetic patients. This aids significantly in prevention and treatment planning. Neuropathy cannot only be painful, but can lead to severe complications if not treated and monitored appropriately, thus the Smart Scan is an extremely important tool in the care of diabetic patients.

The smiles that greet you when you visit us here at Advanced Ankle & Foot in Katy Texas
Our incredible new Office Manager is Cherie Kridner. After fifteen years of top-notch experience at a busy gastroenterology clinic, she joined our team in September of 2018. Her knowledge and abilities as a medical assistant and manager are outstanding. As you may notice if you read our reviews, Cherie is someone who truly understands, serves, and loves patients.
When she isn't working you can find her supporting her kids, like getting up at 4 am on a weekend to drive one of her daughters to Louisiana for Flags and Battle of the Bands or helping another high schooler with her FFA projects for the Houston Rodeo. She's a woman of faith who loves to sing, write poetry (some published!) and enjoy "sunrise coffee dates" with her husband.
After graduating from Med Tech College with her MA degree, Carla Bonilla began working in the podiatric field in 2016. Ever since then she has been adding to her specialized set of skills which are unique to podiatry. Her warm and caring personality instantly helps to put people at ease as well.
In her free time, Karla enjoys photography, Zumba dancing, and sports activities.
One of the first smiles you'll see at our office is Karen's. As a student at UHD who is planning on becoming a physical therapist in sports medicine, we are excited to have her as a member of our team. She is sharp and will know just what to do to get you in and out of our office quickly and efficiently in a friendly, caring way.
If you ask her, Karen will say the most important aspect of her life is her family. She loves to eat, play sports, and long-distance running. If anyone's an expert at twisting and breaking ankles, so according to Karen, it's a good thing she's got Dr. Burdge around for repairs.
